Chiropractic protects the integrity of the nervous system and protects the body's natural healing ability. If your nervous system is functioning properly then all cells, organs, and tissues of your body will function at their max potential as well. The human body is designed to resist and fight disease and illness. The chiropractic lifestyle is about preventing bad things before they happen to your body. Chiropractic exams find and eliminate misalignments and subluxations.


DOT Physical

A Department of Transportation (DOT) physical is a health examination mandated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) for commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers. A DOT physical helps determine if a driver is physically, mentally, and emotionally fit to operate a CMV.


Non-DOT Physical

A non-DOT physical determines a person's fitness for employment, fitness to perform a job, and fitness to return to work after medical leave in a non-DOT regulated industry. A non-DOT physical may include the following: Review of medical history, review of current medications. Record height and weight check.


Sports Physical Exam

The doctor will record the height and weight of your child, take their blood pressure and pulse, test their vision, check their flexibility, strength, joints, and posture, and finally, check the throat, nose, lungs, ears, abdomen, and heart.

Dr. Alissa Gould, D.C. is a 3rd generation chiropractor, following her father, Dr. Steven Jay Gould, D.C., D.A.C.B.R, and great aunt Dr. Joy Cooper, D.C. Dr. Alissa Gould, D.C. has practiced at many locations in the Overland Park, Shawnee, and Lenexa areas. She continues to develop and grow her skills sets to tailor her treatments to each of her patients’ needs.

Dr. Alissa Gould, D.C. received her Bachelor of Science at Southwestern College, Kansas graduating with honors as Summa Cum Laude. She played volleyball and was a track and field athlete for the Mound Builders. She then went to Cleveland Chiropractic College in Overland Park, KS for 4 years where she graduated with her Doctorate in Chiropractic. She gained experience with different chiropractic techniques and its many modalities. She was the valedictorian of her Cleveland Chiropractic graduating class. She has experience with Cox Flexion-Distraction, Motion Palpation, Sacral Occipital Technique, Thompson Technique, Instrument-assisted, and Leander Technique. Along with therapeutic adjunctive such as FAKTR, myofascial release, dry needling (trigger point therapy), cupping therapy, manual therapy, kinesiotaping, and therapeutic exercise. One of her favorite regions to treat is the jaw (TMJ). Dr. Alissa Gould, D.C. enjoys spending time with her family. Dr. Amanda Wappelhorst, D.C. grew up near Wichita, Ks and attended Newman University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She then continued her education at Cleveland Chiropractic college in Overland Park, KS in September of 202, where she truly discovered her passion in life. In December 2023 she graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic.

Dr. Amanda learned through school that not only does she love the holistic and natural approach of chiropractic, but she enjoys the one-on-one time she spends with her patients! She values patients-centered care and wants her patients to be well informed so that they may take charge of their health while not in the office.

She has experience in many chiropractic techniques including Gonstead, Activator, Sacral Occipital Technique, Diversified, and Leander. She also incorporates the use of myofascial release, instrument assisted soft tissue modalities such as scarping, manual therapy, kinesiotaping, and therapeutic exercises. She is always looking to broaden her skills to best support her patients and their needs! Outside of work, Dr. Amanda loves spending time with her dogs, family, and friends, reading, arts and crats, and finding new local businesses to support.
